Rehabilitation care is an important aspect of health care. It helps patients regain their strength and mobility after an illness or injury. Fall River Jewish Home provides rehabilitation care for our residents in a comfortable and home-like setting. Our physical therapists work closely with each resident to help them reach their individual goals. We are proud to offer this important service to our community!

Rehab and Therapy

Recovering from an illness, injury or surgery after a hospital stay often requires additional therapy and rehabilitation before transitioning home safely. Fall River Jewish Home’s Rehab and Therapy program has one goal: guiding an individual’s healing process to help them reach their maximum level of independence so they can return safely to the comfort of their own home.
Our team of professional therapists in our rehab and therapy program provides attentive care that includes:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Therapy
  • Pain Management
  • Wound Care
  • IV Therapy

Physical Therapy

The focus of physical therapy is to help the individual regain strength, mobility, and independence. A physical therapist will work closely with the individual to create a treatment plan that meets their specific goals. The type of physical therapy treatments differ depending on the individual’s needs but may include various exercises, manual therapy, and balance training.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy takes several forms, but the main focus is to use common daily activities as a source of rehabilitation and make sure an individual can perform them. Our occupational therapists will work with patients to help develop treatment.

Speech Therapy

The focus of speech therapy is to help the individual regain their ability to communicate. A speech therapist will assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and oral/feeding/swallowing skills. If problems are identified, our staff at Fall River Jewish Home will develop a plan with the patient to find solutions.

Pain Management

The goal of pain management is to help the individual cope with their pain. Our pain management specialist will work closely with patients to meet their specific needs. The type of pain management treatments will vary from each individual, but may include:

  • Medication Management
  • Pain Psychology
  • Interventional Procedures

Wound Care

The focus of wound care is to help individuals heal their wounds. The staff of Fall River Jewish Home will create a treatment plan that will expedite your or your loved one’s healing. The type of wound care treatments may vary depending on the individual’s needs, but may include:

  • Wound Cleansing
  • Dressing Changes
  • Compression Therapy

IV Therapy

IV therapy helps individuals receive the nutrients they need. Our team will work closely with the individual to create a treatment plan that meets their specific needs. IV Therapy is a quick and effective method to deliver vitamins, minerals, and amino acids especially if a patient is having trouble eating during care.
